Devotion: The Triumph of Easter
So, when this takes place, and the mortal has been changed into the immortal, then the scripture will come true: ‘Death is destroyed; victory is complete!’
‘Where, Death, is your victory? · Where, Death, is your power to hurt?’
Death gets its power to hurt from sin, and sin gets its power from the Law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (1 Corinthians 15:54-57).
The rhythm of the Easter season – Lent, Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, Good Friday -comes to a monumental climax on Easter Sunday, when we celebrate that the grave has been defeated and the Lord is risen. Hallelujah! Death, the age-old enemy and source of fear, has been broken, and with it sin and the Law. We can join with the scriptures in declaring victory.
As an Easter Sunday person, one who lives in the resurrection, I need to remember to celebrate this freedom from death every day. Around me I see death and decay at work everywhere in the world. Newspapers and conversations continually remind me that so many are still dead. Yet I have hope. I know that God is greater than these things and that in his love he desires to bring healing.
Lord, thank you for your death and resurrection. Thank you that I need no longer live under the power of law and death. Thank you for the grace, freedom and life that we receive in Christ. Amen.

Child Safety
The school’s Student Representative Council work hard throughout the year to organise and run many events for the students to be involved in. Recently the SRC organised the school’s special Multicultural Day celebrations. The funds that were raised are being donated to World Vision to support less fortunates children around the world
However the role of the SRC is not confined to fundraising events. One of the main tasks the SRC undertook last year was to develop and write a child friendly version of the school’s Child Safe Policy. During the process, there was an incredible amount of discussion and thought that went into writing the policy. The SRC decided to present the policy in the form of a booklet which features student artwork. A copy of the policy is attached to this newsletter.
This year, the SRC will be working on producing a child friendly version of the school’s Code of Conduct. We hope to have this document available for students to access during this year.
We thank the members of the SRC for their dedication to serving the school in many different ways and for taking responsibility for raising awareness about child safety in the school.`
What we are Learning
Year Prep/ 1
In the Prep/1 classroom we are using literacy centre activities to practise concepts such as story telling.
Help us use our imaginations to tell silly stories at home!
Year 1/ 2
In the Year 1/2 classroom we are learning how to show Empathy to others. We learn how to care how others feel.
We have read a book ‘Hey, Little Ant’ to help us to understand this concept.
Year 3/ 4
In the Year 3/4 classroom, we spent time exploring the characters from the book ‘The lion, the witch and the wardrove’ and the Blitz.
Please ask your child their favourite character.
Year 5/ 6
In the Year 5/6 classroom we have been collecting data to make an informed decision about which Harmony Day logo to choose for our t-shirts.
Ask us about the app we used to create our designs.
