Advent
During Whole School Worship we have been celebrating the church season of Advent. Advent is the season in which we prepare for the celebration of the birth of Jesus at Christmas. During our worship time, each of the classes have been telling us about the four advent candles found on the advent wreath.
Candle 1
The first candle symbolizes hope. It represents the hope that we have in the coming birth of Jesus.
Candle 2
The second candle represents peace. We are reminded of the true peace that Jesus brought through his birth.
Candle 3
The third candle is pink and reminds us of the joy that we experience at the birth of Jesus.
Candle 4
The last candle is love. It represents the celebration of love we have through the birth of Christ.
There is a white candle that is placed in the middle of the wreath which is lit on Christmas Eve. It is white to represent the purity of Jesus.
