Enrolment Procedures
We would love you to consider enrolling your child at Sunshine Christian School. Outlined below is the standard process for doing so. If you have any questions or queries at all please feel free to contact us.
The Enrolment Process
Step 1
Complete the Application for Admission form available from the school office or download a PDF copy below. Students seeking enrolment for Prep should be 5 years of age by April 30th of the year of intended enrolment.
Step 2
Attach a copy of your child's birth certificate or passport. A copy of current visa documents is required for children born overseas.
Step 3
Attach a copy of your child's Immunisation History Statement.
Step 4
If applying for a place in a year other than Prep, attach a copy of your child’s last school report.
Step 5
Submit all documents as outlined above at the school office in person at which time you will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $50 per child.
Step 6
Depending on student numbers in the year level you are applying for, an interview with the Principal will be arranged for parents/caregivers and the child, when a suitable place is available. Applications will be placed on a waiting list unless otherwise notified by the student’s family.
Enrolment application considerations
In the event of more applications being received than enrolment places available, the following priorities will apply as per the school’s Enrolment Policy:
- Children of families with siblings currently enrolled at Sunshine Christian School
- Children of families attending St Matthew’s, another Lutheran Church or otherwise adherents to the Lutheran faith
- Children of former students of Sunshine Christian School
- Students of current or former staff members of Sunshine Christian School
- Students transferring from schools associated with the Lutheran Church of Australia
- Students who do not satisfy any of the above criteria, taking into consideration the pre-enrolment process
- The School Board may exercise discretionary powers in special circumstances
Please also note:
- Enrolment is subject to a satisfactory enrolment interview with the Principal or delegate
- Date of receipt of application may be taken into account when considering applications
- The School Board may exercise discretionary powers in special circumstances
Prep enrolment
Prep applications for 2024 have now closed. The school recommends that families consider submitting an application for Prep enrolment before your child reaches the age of three in order to improve the likelihood of being successful. We receive significantly more applications than the number of places we have available.
